Guided tour to the differents attractions in Lima and
its three historical periods: pre-hispanic, colonial and contemporary. In Lima,
there were several different pre-columbian cultures which are dated thousands
of years back. Lima was part of the Inca Empire until was founded by the
spaniard Francisco Pizarro on the 18th of January, 1535. Transfer to the hotel
and lodging.
Day 02: Lima - Paracas
Breakfast. Transfer to the bus station to take the bus
to Paracas in the department of Ica in the Province of Pisco 260 kilometers south of
Lima. Guided boat excursion to Ballestas Islands which are located outside the
reserve area. They constitute the habitat of a great variety of birds and sea
lions; surface transportation to Paracas National Reserve, their 335.000
hectares are a refuge for fur seals, Humboldt penguins, flamingos (parihuanas),
and many other birds. Visit to Julio C. Tello museum. Transfer to Nazca and
then to the hotel. Lodging.
Day 03: Nazca - Arequipa
Breakfast. Overflight to the Majestic Nazca Lines at
145 kilometers (90 ml) south of Ica, it is an area of approximately 500 km (310 ml) of
Pampa, where the mysterious lines were discovered in 1927. The real dimension
of these lines can be fully appreciated by air. They represent diverse animal
figures, as a spider, a monkey, a dog, a lizard, a humming bird, and a condor.
The dimensions of these figures vary from 15 to 300 mt each (50 to 1,000 ft.)
high. Tour to Chauchilla Cemetery at 28 kilometers (17 ml) from Nazca, it contains
graves opened by huaqueros (tomb-robbers),
showing skeletons, skulls and other human remains. Transfer to the bus station.
Day 04: Arequipa
Arrival and transfer to your hotel.
The department of Arequipa is located in
the south western part of the country. Thecapitalis the city of Arequipa, located at 2,335 masl (7,600 fasl), with a beautiful
architecture, based in ashlar stone, an extraordinary landscape and
countryside, and a dry climate with mild temperatures. In
the afternoon visit to the Convent of Santa
Catalina, open to the public after more than 400 years of cloistered religious
life, La Plaza de Armas or Main Square, the Cathedral, Church of La Compañía
and it's fabulous colonial jewels, and finally the typical district ofYanahuara. Hotel accommodation.
Day 05: Arequipa - Colca Valley
Breakfast. Early
in the morning departure to Colca Valley where we will see the Chachani Volcano,
snow covered peak, towering over 6,075 masl / 19,931 fasl is considered one of
the most difficult mountains to climb in Perú. It is an inactive volcano, the
National Reserve of Vicuñas, Pampa Cañahuas. Arrival
in Chivay, buffet lunch.In the
afternoon visit to the thermal spring of La Calera, show dinner with folcloric
music.

Valley.
Day 06: Colca Valley - Arequipa
Breakfast.
Early at 06:30 am
departure to “La Cruz del Condor” to see the second deepest canyon in the world and admire the flight
of the condor. On our way back to Arequipa we will visit thetraditional towns of Pinchillo, Maca, Yanque. Buffet
lunch in Chivay.
Transfer to Arequipa and then to the bus station.
Day 07: Cusco - City Tour
Reception at the bus station and transfer to the
hotel. The department of Cusco is located in the south oriental region of the
country, comprising part of the Sierra and the Jungle. At 3,360 masl
(11,023 ft).
We are going to visit the Cathedral, "El
Templo del Sol" or Koricancha, and the four ruins nearby: The Fortress of
Sacsayhuaman, Q'enko, Puca Pucara, and finally "Los Baños del
Inca" Tambomachay.
Transfer to the hotel.
Day 08: Sacred Valley of the Incas
After breakfast guided excursion to "Sacred
Valley of the Incas". We are going to visit Pisaq where every tuesday,
thursday and sunday locals trade their goods in the colorful andean
market. Buffet lunch in Urubamba, then we will continue until arrive to
Ollantaytambo and visit the arqueological rests of it.
Finally we are going to visit Chinchero and its
tipical market.
Transfer to the hotel.
Day 09: Machu Picchu
After breakfast. Transfer to the train station for the
early morning departure to Aguas Calientes where the guides will take you
up to the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu in a turistic bus. Return by bus to
Aguas Calientes to enjoy a delicious buffet lunch. In the afternoon return by
train to Cusco.
Transfer to the hotel.
Day 10: Cusco-Puno
Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to the bus station.
Arrival in Puno which is located in the south eastern region of the country. It
has a rough topography with most of its cities located in the Sierra the capital is Puno, located on the shores of Lake Titicaca and at 3,827 masl
(12,555 ft). Transfer to the hotel and lodging.
Day 11: Puno - Sillustani Archeological Complex
Breakfast. Transfer to Sillustani. This complex stands
on the shore of Lake Umayo 34 kilometers (21 ml) north of Puno. It is famous for
its Chullpas. Built
by the Collas, the chullpas are gigantic funerary monuments. They are
quadrangular and circular edifications of over 12 mt (39 ft) high. Here
we wil take a 30 minutos walk. Transfer to Puno and lodging.
Day 12: Uros Island - AmantaníIsland (
overnight in Amantaní)
Breakfast. Departure to the Floating Islands fo the
Uros, the Titicaca lake contains numerous islands whose inhabitants continue to
live as their ancestors have in custom and tradition. The Uros is an example of
this, they called themselves Kotsuña, “the lake people”, and their origins go
back to eras before the Incas. They hunt wild birds and maintain traditional
fishing methods, especially those used for the carachi and the silverfish. The
men are skillful handlers of the totora reed to make boats and the islands
themselves, and the women are expert knitters. Lodging in Amantani Island on
the peruvian side of Lake Titicaca, among its natural attractions, there are
two lookouts on the highest part offering a view of the entire lake, some pre
hispanic remains, ceremonial centers and a mummy cemetery. This full day includes
lunch and dinner.
Day 13:
Taquile Island - Puno
Breakfast.
Visit to Taquile an island which sits on the Peruvian side of Lake Titicaca 45 kilometers
offshore from the city of Puno. Taquile is characterized by its
friendly inhabitants, who maintain their customs and traditional clothing. They
distinguish themselves by their detailed, fine, and colorful textiles with
symmetrical decorations and symbols that reflect their way of life, customs,
and andean beliefs.
Day 14: Puno
Breakfast. Transfer to the
bus station to take the bus to Arequipa to have conecction to Lima.
Day 15: Lima
Arrival in Lima.
